While many shoppers are waiting in lines at a nearby Best Buy or Walmart snagging Black Friday deals, or waiting patiently for more deals to surface in time for Cyber Monday, this morning Google quietly announced a Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale of their own.
Black Friday is always a crazy time to go shopping, and many would rather wait and simply buy things online during Cyber Monday. Today Google announced both shopping spree days will be blend into one for the official Google Play Black Friday & Cyber Monday sale.
Google didn’t share any details leading up to today, but this morning announced plenty of deals for potential buyers of the Nexus 9, Android Wear smartwatches, and much more. If you’ve been waiting to see what would go on sale, below is all the details regarding what Google has to offer this year.
While most of the deals available on the Google Play Store this year are on smartwatches running Android Wear, they’re also delivering $50 savings on almost all purchases. Essentially making that $399 Nexus 9 only $349, but the savings come in the form of Google Play Store credit.
Below is a list of items that if purchased from the Google Play Store, will get you $50 in Google Play Store credit to go towards apps, games, movies, or even a Google Play Music subscription. It isn’t outright savings and Google is getting that $50 back, but they’re deals nonetheless.
If you purchase any of the above items, you’ll happily get $50 in Google Play Store credit to spend as you see fit.
Then of course matching many other stores, the LG G Watch is on sale for $99, giving buyers a pretty good deal, even if it’s sold out. It’s usually $229. The sale runs through Cyber Monday, so more stock may arrive throughout the weekend so keep checking back often. Getting it for $99 and receiving $50 in credit makes this possibly the best deal on the Play Store.
The popular Google Chromecast HDMI dongle is also $10 off, making it just $25 this weekend. If you snagged a cheap $199 50-inch LED TV on Black Friday that isn’t a smart TV, the Chromecast is a perfect companion to get all your favorite apps and “smart features” to that new TV.
The NEST thermostat is $50 off, and it’s highly possible that Google will be adding more details and deals over the weekend. Black Friday just kicked off today, and we’ll be on the lookout for more deals as Cyber Monday approaches, even from Google.
Not mentioned above, is the Nexus 6, which also gets $50 Google Play gift card credit when purchased, but it’s out of stock as expected. We’re not sure when more will be available, but if any arrive, you’ll get a $50 credit with the purchase of Google’s new Nexus 6 or Nexus 9 tablet.
Stay tuned for more details.
