Got a Nokia Phone? There’s an App Store For That
Nokia has gone live with its Ovi App Store which I’m sure is going to make Nokia users the world over extremely happy. According to Nokia reps, over 50 million folks can take advantage of it as of today on 50 Nokia models.
That said, according to some sources, like TechCrunch, things aren’t smooth sailing just yet as there are some bumps in the road.
Here’s a link to the press release.

Most of the bumps described on TechCrunch sound like the usual launch time glitches. Everyone and their brother hits the new site at once on the first day, which plays havoc with the system. I wouldn’t take it as an indication of what will happen in the long-term, although heads will no doubt roll.
What surprises me is how boring their press release is. I’m amazed anyone bothered to seek out the store after reading that thing.

Yeah, initial hiccups are frustrating but forgettable. Ovi most likely has great future ahead.
With 500 applications available during launch and estimated 50MLN userbase – this is the gold rush right now
We already port a number of our apps and have customers pinging us about doing it also
