HBO Go, HBO’s mobile streaming service, has finally come to Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet.

The company announced today that the HBO Go app for Kindle Fire has launched and that it is currently available within the Amazon Appstore, Amazon’s software marketplace.

HBO Go will allow HBO subscribers, this is not a standalone application as it requires an HBO subscription to function, access to over 1,400 titles of HBO’s very best shows including Game of Thrones and True Blood.

The app will allow subscribers to stream that content, wherever, on the Kindle Fire. The app is free and is essential to those that use both a Kindle Fire and HBO.

It appears to be the same application that is already available on both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platform. That means that users will be able to pick up episodes where they left off, perfect for when the app or the device itself crashes.

The app also includes a number of other abilities including a way to pause and rewind content, access to bonus content from select shows including interviews and behind-the-scenes, and HBO’s handy Watchlist feature that will keep trach of the shows that users watch and put them in an easily accessible place for future viewing.

This application will join with Amazon’s native Instant Video service that is already present on the Kindle Fire and which gives users access to millions of TV shows and movies.

The Kindle Fire is Amazon’s most successful product launch ever and it is rumored to have taken over half of the Android tablet market since it launched at $199 in 2011.
