Want a free Kindle just for taking a vacation? This may sound like an offer that’s too good to be true, but it’s not.
Hotels.com is giving away a free Amazon Kindle to anyone who books a three-night stay at participating hotels on Hotels.com by August 2nd.
To take advantage of this book lover’s bundle you need to book a three-night stay on Hotels.com with a value of $450 or higher before taxes and fees. The offer is not valid at all hotels, but we found quite a few name brand hotels, from budget to high-end, on the participating hotels list, in cities large and small.
When you book your trip be sure to use the coupon code BOOKWORM and make sure your three night stay is consecutive. Your trip must be completed by September 5th, 2011.
Aside from the $450 minimum on this offer there aren’t many gotcha’s or catches to take away from the overall value, which makes it worth sharing. If you are already booking a several night stay, this deal is effectively a $140 discount on your face price.
The free Kindle offer doesn’t state which version of Amazon’s popular eReader you will receive, but we are guessing it is the Wi-Fi Kindle, which retails for $139.99 direct from Amazon. After your trip Hotels.com will send you an email with directions for redeeming your free Kindle, which will ship within six weeks.
The Amazon Kindle is a 6″ ebook reader which uses eInk technology to show your books on the display. The Kindle can’t be read in the dark without an external light, but is easy to read outdoors, where glossy screened tablets have issues. You can purchase books from the Amazon Kindle bookstore and carry 3,500 books with you at all times. The battery life will last up to two months with WiFi turned off and up to 3 weeks with it on.
