If you’re wanting to get around the recent Snapchat ban on jailbroken devices, there’s an easy way to do it. Here’s how to bypass Snapchat’s jailbreak ban.
Recently, Snapchat has been locking and banning accounts of users with jailbroken iPhones that use jailbreak tweaks to enhance the Snapchat experience. This isn’t anything new, as other apps have done the same thing in the past by locking out jailbreakers.
If you find yourself one of the unlucky ones to get banned by Snapchat because you enjoy a better user experience with the app, there is some good news, as one of the biggest Snapchat-focused jailbreak tweaks has been updated to bypass any Snapchat ban.
Phantom is a popular Snapchat jailbreak tweak that allows you to do a whole bunch of cool stuff, like mark posts as read when you want, disable the hold gesture when opening snaps, automatically save new snaps, select multiple contacts at once, send a snap from your camera roll, and a lot more.
A jailbreak tweak like Phantom is why Snapchat is banning jailbreakers, but a new update to Phantom now allows users to bypass Snapchat’s new banning rules, allowing jailbreakers to continue using Snapchat without the risk of getting banned.
How to Bypass Snapchat’s Jailbreak Ban
Normally, if you use Snapchat and take advantage of jailbreak tweaks that improve the Snapchat experience, the app will check to see if you’re running any of these types of tweaks, and if it checks positive, the app will force you to uninstall these tweaks before you can use Snapchat again, by going to a Snapchat web page where you can unlock your account.
This is annoying to say the least, but we get why Snapchat is doing this. However, if you’re one who likes to rebel, you can bypass Snapchat’s jailbreak ban and use jailbreak tweaks all day long without any risk of getting locked out again.
The latest version of Phantom includes an update that prevents your Snapchat account from being locked up. To get the new update, simply open up Cydia and tap on the Changes tab at the bottom. You should see an update for the tweak, for which you can then tap Update in the top-right corner to update the tweak.
If you don’t have the tweak installed, now is a great time to install and use it, thanks to the new update. Simply open up Cydia, go down to the Search tab at the bottom, and search for “Phantom.” The tweak you want is called Phantom for Snapchat, and it’s a free tweak to use.
Of course, the biggest concern going forward is that Snapchat will issue a new update to its own app that will fix Phantom’s new exploit and will begin to lock up accounts again. The best thing to do to avoid this is by not updating Snapchat when a new update releases in the App Store.
Phantom isn’t the only awesome jailbreak tweak that iPhone users should have. There are a handful of jailbreak tweaks that work great on iOS 8.4, including tweaks that improve the iOS experience, as well as tweaks that fix annoying features that you may not enjoy in iOS.
Some of our favorites include Springtomize, Flux, and Activator. Springtomize allows you to customize all sorts of things in iOS and completely change it around if you really want to. Activator is also a tweak that lets you do a whole bunch of stuff, but it mainly focuses on automation, allowing to automatically turn up or down the volume at a specific time, for example.
