Making a FaceTime call on the iPhone is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family members with an iPhone, iPad or Mac.
FaceTime lets you see the people you are talking to, making it a little more like you’re face to face.
FaceTime is the perfect way to say hi to grandma when away at college or for business travelers to check in with family members and co-workers from anywhere WiFi is available.
How to Make a FaceTime Call
To use FaceTime you need to connect to WiFi.
To do this tap Settings.
Make sure the toggle is turned to the On position and choose a WiFi network.
Making a FaceTime Call
Next, Tap your home button to return to the home screen. Once you have done that, tap on the Phone icon.
Once in the phone application tap Contacts.
Select the contact that you would like to FaceTime, and then select FaceTime in the bottom right of the screen.
You can call the person’s iPhone or Email address. If the person you want to FaceTime has an iPad, you will want to call their email address.
Pick which way you would like to contact them, and you are now on a FaceTime call.
Unfortunately there is no way to make a FaceTime call to Android or Windows phone users. You don’t need to know if someone has an iPhone or iPad to try to make a FaceTime call, but if the recipient doesn’t have an Apple device you will see a “FaceTime Failed” message.
In order to call an iPad, you’ll need to call the correct email address, so be sure to check email addresses if you know that someone has a FaceTime compatible device.
With FaceTime Apple makes it very easy for its users to connect in a newer and more personable way. Unlike phone calls, many people prefer to schedule FaceTime calls because of the need for WiFi and the fact that you can see each other.,
Who knows maybe we will soon be sending holographic projections of ourselves just like in Star Wars or phoning in holographic concert appearances.
