How to Reset a Frozen OnePlus 7 Pro
The OnePlus 7 Pro is a fast and powerful phone, but it’s not perfect. If you’re dealing with issues this guide explains how to reset a frozen OnePlus 7 Pro. Whether it’s completely frozen, unresponsive, or just acting funny, here’s the easiest way to fix it.
Unlike its earlier phones, the OnePlus 7 Pro has a premium metal and glass design. And while it looks great, it means you can’t remove the battery to reset or reboot a phone that’s acting funny. As a result, you’ll have to follow these quick and simple steps. That said, you can easily get it working in under a minute.
How to Reboot a Frozen OnePlus 7 Pro
As a reminder, this will not erase any data or content on your phone.
- Press and Hold the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time
- Hold them down for 10-15 seconds, or until the phone vibrates and restarts
- If the phone turns off let go then press power again for 1-2 seconds to restart the phone
This same process will reboot almost any Android phone that’s having problems, so it’s a good tip to know. The instructions from T-Mobile suggest it could take upwards of 30 seconds, but typically this works within 7-10 seconds. You know it worked when the phone automatically turns off, power cycles, and reboots back to normal operation.
If your OnePlus 7 Pro is completely frozen and really crashed hard this process might simply turn it off, instead of a reboot. If so, just let go of both buttons, wait a few seconds, then press and hold Powe for 1-2 seconds like usual to turn the phone on.

As a reminder, this will not delete or erase any information or data from your phone. Instead, it simply forces the phone to hard restart. Perfect for those experiencing problems or an unresponsive screen. Drop us a comment below if you have any other questions, concerns, or problems and we’ll do our best to help you fix them.

My phone died with at least 50% battery and will not power back on. I have left it on the charger, tried doing your “frozen phone reboot” and nothing works. Help!

Had same problem. Went black out of no where. After trying several combinations, holding volume up and power for about 30 seconds made it reboot and saved me from a heart attack.
