How to Share Your iCloud Calendar from iPhone

Published

on

If you use iCloud, as well as the Calendar app on your iPhone, there’s a way that you can share your calendar with other iOS users, like your friends and family or even fellow members of a local club that you belong to.

Apple allows you to sync your iOS calendar across your Apple devices using iCloud, but it also allows you to share your calendar with other users who also have an iPhone or iPad. You can share certain calendars with friends and family and even allow them to add and edit events.

It’s the perfect solution in times when you’re a part of a club and want other members to be able to view the club calendar for upcoming events. Personally, my family shares each others’ calendar so that we all know what we’re all up to and if someone is busy or not during a particular weekend. Safe to say, it makes planning things a lot easier.

In this how-to, I’ll show you how you can set up your calendar in order to share with someone else, as well as even making your calendar public so that anyone can view it. Having a public calendar makes it simple and easy to share your calendar with anyone who might want to know when all of the events are going on, and it keeps from having you to add people whenever you need to share the calendar with more users.

First Thing’s First

Before you begin sharing your calendars with other iOS users, you’ll have to make sure that iCloud is on and that it’s syncing your calendars. Calendar sharing only works when everyone that you’re sharing it with has iCloud enabled for their calendars.

By default, iCould should already be enabled, as well as iCloud calendar syncing, but if you happened to turn it off at some point in the past, here’s how to re-enable it.

  • Open up the Settings app, scroll down, and tap on iCloud.

  • Make sure that the toggle to the right of Calendars is turned on a set to green. You’re done with that part!

  • Next, tap on the Info button to the right of one of your calendars that you want to share. This is a button that has a small letter i in the center of a circle.

  • Type in the names of the contacts that you’d like to share your calendar with, and once all of them are added, tap Add.

  • The names will show up in a list, from which you can then modify share settings for each individual contact. Once you’re done with that, tap on Done to complete the process.

Share a Calendar Publicly

  • Open up the Calendar app on your iPhone and tap on the Calendars button at the bottom.
  • Next, tap on the Info button to the right of one of your calendars. Again, this is the button that has a small letter i in the center of a circle.
  • Scroll down all the way to the bottom and flip on the toggle switch to Public Calendar so that the switch turns green.

  • Even though you now have your calendar shared with anyone, you still have to send people the link to the calendar. To do that, tap on Share Link… after you’ve enabled Public Calendar and you can then email it or text message it to someone so that they can view it. You can also copy the link to your iPhone clipboard and paste it anywhere.

My last paycheck was $4500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 11k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out. The potential with this is endless. This is what I do… PayCog.c*om
