If you have one of the sleek new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Android tablets and have been looking forward to the Samsung TouchWiz update, your wait is over.
As planned Samsung has begun rolling out the TouchWiz interface to the WiFi only version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as an over the Air update. You can download the new skin and interface to your device right now, so long as you have a WiFi connection.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 4G LTE on Verizon is slated for a similar update in the future, but we haven’t heard when this will be available.
The TouchWiz interface adds some looks to the stock Android experience. K.T. has a deeper look at the new TouchWiz interface, as she had early access to the update. As she notes, Android purists may not appreciate the changes, but for me, I wish it was available for the 4G LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1″ which Verizon sent over for review. While I like my Android phones close to stock, Honeycomb can use a facelift.
Be sure you want TouchWiz before you update, as there is no going back.
