I got an opportunity to see the new HP Compaq 2730p close and personal today. In one word – WOW! As you all know, I really like my HP Compaq 2710p, but I have to admit that it wasn’t a perfect system. HP has listened to the user feedback on the 2710p and made some incremental changes that really make a difference to usability. A few noticeable changes: a trackpad in addition to the trackpoint and a new jogdial for scrolling. I loved the jogdial on my old HP TC1100 and this one is just as well designed. Some changes that are harder to notice: support for both ULV and LV processors and faster hard drivers.
Overall, the new 2730p is an incremental update, much it addresses all of my major pain points.
- Support for both ULV and LV Core 2 Duo processors
- Faster hard drive
- The same beautiful design
