No surprise here as it has been predicted from some time, but the Wall Street Journal is reporting that HP is considering bundling up Netbooks with wireless service plans. I’m sure they are not the only ones considering such a move. This already happens with computers and wireless plans in Europe and Asia but is just on the cusp of beginning here in the states. Of course the whole subsidized price thing is very familiar to cell phone customers.
We’ll have to see how this moves forward and the possibilities are interesting. But if Netbooks get subsidized to disposable prices (or free?) I wonder how users will respond.
