HTC DROID Incredible takes a bullet for its owner

A YouTube video from The Associated Press shows an HTC phone battery deformed from where it blocked a bullet from entering its owner’s chest. The man’s life was saved, but sadly the heroic phone was not. Please send tweets in lieu of flowers.

The type of phone is not specified in the video, but BGR identifies it as a DROID Incredible based on the battery. While both the HTC EVO and HTC DROID Incredible have red battery packs, the design on the upper right matches the Incredible. Seems the phone’s name proved quite appropriate for this lucky guy. I might have to rethink my practice of carrying my phone at my hip.
