The price of Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G LTE has been slashed for new customers at Amazon Wireless.
The retailer is currently offering up Sprint’s latest 4G LTE smartphone for a mere penny with the signing of a new two-year contract. This is much lower than the $199.99 price that Sprint currently asks for the device.
That’s an absolute steal for a device that is one of the best Android smartphones on the market and arguably the best smartphone on Sprint’s new 4G LTE network.
Those who are looking to upgrade will have to pay the usual $149.99 price. The discount unfortunately only applies to those that are able to sign up for a new agreement.
The price drop follows the price drop of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, another 4G LTE device on Sprint, which saw its price slashed down to free for a limited time through Sprint.
We don’t know how long the EVO 4G LTE will last at a penny though we imagine it is for a limited time as well.
Both devices run on Sprint’s new 4G LTE network which offers 4G LTE data speeds that can reach up to 10 times faster than normal 3G data speeds.
However, Sprint only has 15 4G LTE markets available in the United States at the moment. It has several new ones on the way but its next expansion is not due to arrive until September.
That means that those who buy the EVO 4G LTE in a city without 4G LTE will be stuck on 3G until service arrives.
Still, at this price, it might be worth the wait.
