Google’s Hurricane Sandy Crisis Map offers fast access to public shelter information, Sandy storm tracking, public alerts and power outage information on the iPhone, Android and other mobile devices.
The new Google Crisis Map is available in for the entire East coast, and as a specific to New York City crisis map. Both format to the iPhone and Android devices, allowing users to check for important information by using the layers option.
As users deal with slow and spotty cell phone service, it’s good to have a single resource for the most recent information. The app allows users zoom in on their specific location to see relevant data.
This data is not available in Google Maps for Android, so users will need to use the links below to access Hurricane Sandy storm information.
