In-depth HP tx2000 Tablet PC Review

Published

on

HP tx2000Tiffany Boggs over at TabletPCReview.com got her hands on the new HP tx2000z Tablet PC and gave it a thorough shakedown – performance tests, hand-on characteristics, etc. The most interesting thing to me was that the nVidia Go 6150 graphics chip didn’t really perform any better than the integrated Intel x3100 graphics that most Tablet PCs have currently when tested on the 3DMark test suite. Now granted that the 3DMark test suite isn’t the same as the average user’s needs, but it’s still indicative that many users would be no more happy with this nVidia solution than they are with the Intel integrated graphics. And it’s still faster and cheaper than my HP Compaq 2710p.

Overall, though, this is looking like a snappy new entry in the Tablet PC space. Listen to the podcast that Warner and I just did to find out our views on the tx2000 and the Toshiba Portégé M700. Which one do we prefer?
