The folks in India are working to cut the cost of things down as much as they can it seems. After announcing a £1,420 price for a car and a £10 price for a phone, it looks like the are getting ready to unveil a £7 laptop. At current rates that converts to just under $10 US.
While targeted at the poorer segments of the Indian economy, I agree with the Times article that government developed prototype will most likely have an appeal to those who are more affulent as well in this crazy economic times. Remember this is an announcment of a prototype so we’ll have to wait and see how this all shapes up.
