iOS 10 Release Date: 11 Things to Watch For

Published

on

As we approach the iOS 10 release date for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch there are a few things you’ll want to watch for.

In June, Apple confirmed its next operating system. And after a lengthy stint in beta, the iOS 10 update is ready to replace the iOS 9 update on select iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models around the world.

Earlier this month, Apple confirmed a concrete iOS 10 release date for September 13th, a few days after the start of iPhone 7 pre-orders and a few days ahead of the iPhone 7 release date on September 16th.

We’ve been taking a close look at the iOS 10 release and today we want to outline a few things we think you should keep track of as we approach the iOS 10 release date for select iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models.

iOS 10 vs iOS 9 Walkthrough - - 9

The iOS 10 update looks a lot like iOS 9 but it’ll bring some major changes to the iPhone 6s, iPhone 5s and iPad Pro. It’s important to get familiar with the iOS 10 update and its changes ahead of its release date so you’re not caught off guard.

There are also some smaller things you should watch for over the next few days and on the iOS 10 release date itself. Keep these in mind as we approach September 13th.

iOS 10 Emoji Ripoffs

iOS 10 Emoji Ripoffs

The iOS 10 update is set to bring tons of new emoji characters to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. And every time an iOS update brings big changes to emoji, we see a bunch of ripoff apps flood the App Store.

As we've pointed out in the past, these apps not only cost money (iOS 10 and its emojis are free) but they bring problems along with them.

There are already several of these applications on the App Store (we're not going to link to them) and you'll want to avoid them ahead of the iOS 10 release and after the iOS 10 release.

There's no reason to pay for something you can get for free.
