Google has re-named its mobile search app for the iPhone and iOS platform from Google Mobile App to Google Search. With the name change, Google has also implemented a number of new features and functionality to the mobile app, including better gesture support to filter your search result between Web searches, photos, videos, and other content that you’re looking for. To change to an image search, for example, swipe right and a panel will appear to allow you to filter your search results.
Google Search also allows users to search via different methods, including typing on the iOS touchscreen, performing a voice search by tapping on the microphone button, or doing a visual search via Google Googles by utilizing the iPhone’s camera.
The new Google Search app is available as a free download from Apple’s iOS App Store.
