With the launch of iTunes Match service imminent we thought it was appropriate to share one of Apple’s latest iPhone 4S ads in which the company touts the benefits of iCloud, the service that the Cupertino-based company announced all the way back at WWDC and launched alongside iOS 5 and the iPhone 4S in early October.
We’ve already gone over what iCloud is but for those that are still in the dark, let’s catch you up to speed. iCloud is actually one of the biggest pieces of iOS 5 and it’s a service that allows you to keep all of your content in sync across all of your devices. iCloud just uses your Apple ID to wirelessly sync your files whether its photos, music or books.
All of that content lives in the cloud aka a remote server which makes said content available just about anywhere.
iCloud also backs up your content ensuring that you won’t ever lose it. The service backs up:
- Purchased music, TV shows, apps and books
- Photos and video in the Photo Roll
- Device settings
- App data
- Home screen and app organization
- Messages (Text, iMessage and MMS)
In the video, you’ll see these benefits in action. Download a song on your iPhone, it’s waiting for you on your Mac when you get home. Or bookmark a page on one device and it’ll soon be available on one of your other iDevices.
