iPhone 4S owners who want to jailbreak the iPhone 4S are able to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 without the fear of losing the ability to jailbreak the iPhone 4S.
Previously we warned that users should avoid iOS 5.1.1 in case Apple patched any security holes hackers would use to jailbreak the iPhone 4S, but now that Pod2g has made progress on the iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 4S, it is ok to update.
Pod2g confirmed on twitter that it is ok to update the iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1.1 as long as you can wait for the jailbreak.
Users with an iPhone 4S jailbreak on iOS 5 would be smart to wait for the release of the iOS 5.1 & iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4S jailbreak, otherwise they will need to go a few weeks without a jailbroken iPhone.
