The iPhone 4S isn’t the iPhone 5 that many of us wanted, but it si still a highly anticipated device that has caught the interest of the average consumer.
If you are able to purchase the new iPhone 4S on contract you can get the entry-level model for $199, with higher capacity versions jumping up in $100 increments. If you aren’t up for a new phone, but can’t wait to get the iPhone 4S, here’s what the off contract pricing is expected to be at Verizon, Sprint and AT&T.
The new iPhone 4S brings a better processor, prettier graphics, a better camera with video stabilization and a brand new voice control app called Siri that acts as a personal assistant.
The iPhone 4S will be available without a contract, but you may not be able to get in on the pre-order if you want to avoid getting locked into a carrier for the next 2 years. Unlike the iPhone 4, which cost $50 more on Verizon, we anticipate equal off contract pricing on the iPhone 4S across carriers.
- iPhone 4S 16GB – $649
- iPhone 4S 32GB – $749
- iPhone 4S 64GB – $849
These prices are in line with the iPhone 4, and there really isn’t a reason for Apple to change this. We have seen the starting price of $649 on the Apple Store in Canada, but so far nothing in the U.S. Apple Stores.
The iPhone 4 with 8GB of storage should be available for $549 off contract and unlocked, and the iPhone 3GS 8GB will set you back $375 without a contract.
For now, the U.S. Apple Store has the following to say about the iPhone 4S off contract pricing,
For those who are not qualified customers, are not eligible for an early upgrade, are purchasing an unlocked iPhone (for supported GSM wireless service provider networks only), or wish to buy an iPhone as a gift, see your carrier, an Apple Retail Store Specialist, the Apple Online Store, or an Apple Authorized Reseller for pricing.
Stay tuned for news from individual carriers, but the above figures should be about what you’ll pay.
