This is the third time that we’ve heard September 21st rumored as an iPhone 5 release date.

In addition, the report claims that Apple will also announce the new iPad Mini on the same date, September 12th, though a release date for that device remains up in the air. It’s possible that the iPad Mini could be released on the same September 21st release date but those details have yet to emerge.

The iPhone 5 release date has again been pegged for September 21st.

The September 21st iPhone 5 release date first emerged last week when a report cited information garner from a Chinese case manufacturer. The second report cited a source from the retail industry in the U.S.

This new report throws some more weight behind this date leaving open the possibility that Apple will not launch the iPhone 5 in October but will instead launch both the new iPhone and the iPad Mini in September.

The iPad Mini could launch with the iPhone 5.

Apple launched the iPhone 4S in October of 2011 and the iPhone 5 has, up until now, widely been believed to be slated for sometime in October.

iPhone 5 Release Date

While the iPhone 5 release date has widely been thought to be coming in October, this new report seems to lend credence to a possible September launch, something that has been rumored in the past.

Digitimes reported that Apple sent orders to Pegatron for the next iPhone and that the device is apparently slated to hit shelves at some point in September.

That information was then backed up by reports that stated that production of the iPhone 5 has indeed started at Chinese manufacturer, Pegatron.

Apple also might be releasing the iPhone 5 in September to boost iPhone sales and revenue before the end of the fiscal year which ends on September 29th 2012.

iPhone 5 Rumors

While nothing is confirmed yet, there have been plenty of leaks as far as iPhone 5 features go.

Our exclusive engineering samples of the iPhone 5 seemed to show a taller iPhone which could mean that the device is going to have a larger 4-inch screen.

The iPhone 5 is also rumored to include 4G LTE capabilities, NFC support and 1GB of RAM tucked inside of its design as well as a quad-core processor, a thin design, a metal backing instead of a glass one and a high-definition front-facing camera for improved video chat.

iPad Mini Release Date

As of yet, we have not heard anything about the iPad Mini release date. However, if Apple does indeed announce the device side-by-side with the iPhone 5 on September 12th, the device would more than likely launch soon afterwards.

Apple generally gives its products a release date at its media events and the iPad Mini will likely be no different.

As of now, September 21st appears a likely candidate for an iPad Mini release.

iPad Mini Rumors

The iPad Mini could join the third-generation iPad in September.

The iPad Mini, based on our exclusive engineering samples, will be smaller than the third-generation iPad and its design will be thinner.

Those samples also revealed a new 19-pin dock connector and two speakers on either side of the dock connector.
