A couple of iPhone 5C cases have been uncovered, thanks to Twitter gadget leak expert evleaks. The two cases are claimed to be made by Case-Mate, and both feature the white version of the rumored iPhone 5C as the model for the cases in the images.
One of the cases looks to be a portfolio style, with a possible leather exterior and felt interior, that can fold out and be made into a stand for the phone. The other case that evleaks reveals is a bumper and case combo, although they could just be two completely separate accessories, but the way they’re pictured has us assuming that the two go together somehow. The white bumper looks similar to Apple’s own bumper for the iPhone, and the red, transparent case below that seems to just snap onto the phone to provide scratch protection.
These images also give us the chance to see the iPhone 5C in a press shot environment, but it’s sadly not in a high resolution, so there’s not a lot of detail to check out unless you squint really hard. The earpiece does seem to be a bit longer than the iPhone 5’s earpiece, but the front-facing camera placement is in the same spot, so we shouldn’t be seeing too many changes in that area.
Furthermore, evleaks reveals a “shipping estimate” from Case-Mate, which is currently set for September 20. This is the same date that has been rumored for weeks, when we may possibly see the official launch of the iPhone 5C and other Apple devices after they get announced on September 10.
Of course, these aren’t the first iPhone 5C cases that we’ve seen. Previously, we saw a handful of cases from Boxware, with options for the both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. A case from elago was also revealed, showing off a clean and simple shell that protects the edges and back of the phone from scratches and minor drops.
The iPhone 5C is said to be Apple’s budget version of the flagship iPhone 5S, running slightly lower specs, but still packing quite a punch from what we understand, with the same 4-inch Retina display, a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and running iOS 7. Price is something that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention in the rumor mill, but we should be looking at an affordable price range for an off-contract model, and possibly a free, subsidized price after signing a contract.
