iPhone 5s iOS 9 Update: 10 Things to Know After Three Weeks

The iPhone 5s iOS 9 update has been out for three weeks. And in those three weeks we’ve seen new iOS 9 updates, iOS 9 problems, and more. With that in mind, we want to recap the most important things to know about the iPhone 5s iOS 9 update at the three week mark.

In June, Apple surprised no one when it confirmed an iOS 9 release for the iPhone 5s. At the time, the company failed to confirm a release date for the big upgrade. It saved that announcement for the iPhone 6s launch last month.

In September, Apple confirmed the iPhone 5s iOS 9 update’s release for September 16th. And on the morning of September 16th, the company released iOS 9.0, its first iOS 9 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

A week later, Apple rolled out iOS 9.0.1 to the iPhone 5s and other iOS 9 powered devices. A week after that, the company pushed out iOS 9.0.2. The company also recently pushed out iOS 9.1 beta 4, its fourth iOS 9.1 beta release. Apple’s been busy.

We’ve been using the iPhone 5 iOS 9 update for a few weeks now and we’ve been putting it, and other iOS 9 upgrades, under the microscope. iOS 9 is a big update and we want to make sure iPhone and iPad users are informed.

Today, we want to take a look at the iPhone 5s iOS 9 update at the three week mark. We’ve seen a ton of details emerge since release day and this roundup will get you caught up to speed on the current state of the iPhone 5s’ second major iOS upgrade.

We've been using the iPhone 5s iOS 9.0.2 update for a week, iOS 9 for three weeks. And what we've found is an extremely stable update for a now two year old phone.

Unlike the iPhone 5 iOS 9.0.2 update, the iPhone 5s iOS 9.0.2 update is fast and fluid and we haven't seen any of the lag or sluggishness that others have encountered.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and LTE continue to hold up. App performance is excellent. And we haven't run into any major issues with iOS 9. It's a solid update and one that you should consider if you're still on iOS 8.4.1 or older.

If you're feeling leery and you need additional feedback, poke around on social media sites like Twitter, Apple's discussion forums, or YouTube.
