iPhone 5S Release Details Start to Flow

Apple announced many of the iPhone 5S release date details at its September 10th event but there are still a few details missing. Fortunately, ahead of the iPhone 5S release date, we’re seeing details start to flow with several missing pieces of information finally receiving confirmation today.

On Tuesday, Apple announced its brand new flagship iPhone, the iPhone 5S, which will debut alongside the iPhone 5C on September 20th. The company outlined many of the release date details for both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C but there were a few things that Apple left for the carriers to divulge themselves.

Two new iPhone 5S release details emerged today with T-Mobile confirming its iPhone 5S pricing and AT&T confirming how much it will charge customers looking to buy the new device on its Next platform.

The iPhone 5S will cost $99 down through T-Mobile.

T-Mobile outlined the pricing for both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C today, saying that it will be charging $99 down for the T-Mobile iPhone 5S on top of 24 months of payments that will bring the total cost to $648.84. The iPhone 5C will cost nothing down but buyers will need to pay a total of $528 over a period of 24 months. That’s actually a little bit cheaper than the $549 price found through Apple. The iPhone 5S price is about the same as Apple’s $649.99.

AT&T says that it will be allowing users to buy both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on its Next plan which allows users to pay for the devices in monthly installments. Here is how the carrier’s Next pricing breaks down:

  • iPhone 5S 16GB: $27 per month.
  • iPhone 5S 32GB: $32 per month.
  • iPhone 5S 64GB: $37 per month.
  • iPhone 5C 16GB: $22 per month.
  • iPhone 5C: 32GB: $27 per month.

Armed with these new details, iPhone 5S buyers are now better equipped to make a choice between the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon.

We expect more details to trickle out ahead of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C release on September 20th but we don’t expect anything to be out of the ordinary.

The iPhone 5C goes up for pre-order early tomorrow morning.

The iPhone 5C goes up for pre-order early tomorrow morning.

Apple, carriers and retailers will begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C tomorrow ahead of its release date. However, the iPhone 5S will not see any pre-orders, forcing buyers to wait until September 20th to buy Apple’s new iPhone.

Apple Stores will be open early on September 20th to accommodate and we should see carrier stores and at least some retailers offer the iPhone 5S on September 20th as well.
