New photos appear to depict the back shells of the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 giving consumers a look at what Apple’s four major mobile products might look like next to one another ahead of their release dates.
For weeks, we’ve heard that Apple has four big time products on the way ahead of the holidays including the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, both of which should be announced today and an iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 that won’t be shown off today and will instead be shown off at a later date, possibly at an event in October.
Parts of those devices have leaked out in the past and today, their back shells have been shown off together courtesy of Sonny Dickson. Dickson, who is known for his ability to get his hands on Apple parts ahead of time, shares the photos on Twitter, showcasing what the back shells of the champagne iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 might look like together.
The back shells match up with all of the various leaks that we’ve seen, many of them from Dickson himself, and they depict an iPhone 5S that looks like the iPhone 5, an iPhone 5C with a plastic colored shell, an iPad 5 with an iPad mini-like design and an iPad mini 2 design that appears to be mostly unchanged from the original iPad mini.
These new photos also give consumers an idea about how big the iPhone 5C is compared to the iPhone 5S, it’s pretty close, and how big the iPad mini 2 might be compared to the new iPhones.
The iPhone 5S is expected to retain the iPhone 5 design but offer some upgrades including a better camera, enhanced processor, and a new home button with fingerprint reader. It’s expected to be released on September 20th, something that Apple should confirm at today’s iPhone event in Cupertino.
Apple’s iPhone 5C is expected to join the iPhone 5S on stage today and it is rumored to have a 4-inch Retina Display, 8MP camera, iOS 7 and several different color options. It too is thought to be coming to the United States on September 20th.
The company’s iPad models are though to be coming in October. The iPad mini 2 is expected to boast a Retina display while the iPad 5 is thought to be focused on a new design that is slimmer and lighter than the iPad 4’s.
