The iPhone 6 is available for pre-order right now, but you’ll have to fork over $4,495 to reserve one from a reseller that will finish it in 24k gold or platinum. If that’s not enough bling for you, the company will encrust the Apple logo with diamonds and charge you $8,395. The official iPhone 6 announcement isn’t expected until September and those who order this super expensive version will have to wait three to four weeks after the iPhone 6 is released to the masses to receive their ‘Lux iPhone 6’ models.

Apple is expected to ship two versions of the iPhone 6 this fall, with both boasting larger displays. The Lux iPhone 6 will be based off of the rumored 4.7″ iPhone6. According to Brikk, the luxury goods company behind the product, each iPhone 6 will be disassembled in its lab in Los Angeles (because where else could a gadget like this be made?). The iPhone 6 units will be hand polished, preped and plated with five layers of metal before they’re plated with two layers of gold or platinum. Some of the units will have high-grade diamonds placed in a custom bezel around the logo. After that’s all done, they’ll be reassembled and placed into a custom metal box before being shipped out to customers.

Besides the precious metal and diamonds, the Brikk’s iPhone 6 will be identical to the versions sold directly by Apple and its partners. Of course, we don’t know exactly what the iPhone 6 will look like since Apple has been quiet on the issue, but there have been a ton of leaked photos, parts and rumors that give us a very good idea of what it will look like. Sample mock ups, such as the one in the above video are being used by companies to build cases and other accessories ahead of the official launch.

Besides making the assumption that the iPhone 6 will have a 4.7″ display, Brikk is also guessing that the iPhone 6 will come with a 128GB storage capacity. That’s a much needed enhancement that most people will benefit from a lot more than a couple of grams of gold or platinum lathered onto their iPhones.

If you’re taken in by the idea of spending thousands of dollars on the iPhone 6, head over to Brikk’s website and place your pre-oder with a $500 deposit. If you can’t afford the $4,495 for the upcoming iPhone 6, they’re having a 40% off sale on gold-plated iPhone 5s units that start at only $2,397.

Before you laugh off the idea of a gold or platinum iPhone 6, remember that there are indeed people willing to spend thousands on phones. Luxury phone maker Vertu has sold phones that cost $10,000 for years. We don’t recommend buying luxury phones, but like it or not there’s a market for devices like the Lux iPhone 6.
