Apple is finally ready to offer a waterproof iPhone 7 according to Kou. This is not going to be a phone that you take swimming for long periods or that you take into the ocean with you on purpose -- but it should dramatically cut down on the number of water damaged iPhones that end up sent back with AppleCare+.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus waterproof rating will be IPX7, like the Apple Watch. This means it should be able to handle being submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. That's not deep, and it's not long, but it's enough to keep the iPhone safe from accidental exposure.

This latest report from the Vietnamese site indicates that the SIM card tray includes a seal, which lines up with waterproofing support.
