Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE Includes a Year of Data for $50

In addition to launching new Kindle Fire HD tablets today Amazon pulled a surprise ou tat the end of the event offering a $499 Amazon Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE.

In addition to undercutting the iPad on pricing by over $200 Amazon is throwing in 4G LTE service for  $50 a year with the 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE. This is a nice touch, allowing users to get started browsing, surfing, emailing and downloading apps and media, but it’s only for 250MB per month.

The new Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE offers a plan anyone can afford.

Still, that’s an impressive amount of data for $50 a year. AT&T’s data plans currently charge users $14.99 a month for that amount of data. The Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE connects to AT&T’s 4G LTE network which is expanding ahead of the iPhone 5 launch with big plans for 2012.

Users can likely add the Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE to an AT&T Mobile Share plan for just $10 a month to share a larger bucket of data and actually use the tablet to download apps, music and videos.

In the current form users will at the very least enjoy the benefits of WhisperSync for all the included Amazon services, like the new WhisperSync for games and Whisper Sync for audiobooks and Immersion reading. This sill also make it easier to use Xray for Movies which pairs with IMDB and likely needs an Internet connection.

The Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE features an 8.9-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 32GB of storage and a new faster processor.

The Kindle Fire HD with 4G LTE is available for preorder later today for $499 and ships on November 20th.
