Last of Us 2 Release: 5 Things to Know Right Now
What Naughty Dog Has Said

Naughty Dog obviously isn't going to outline its exact plans though it has commented on the possibility of a Last of Us 2 release. Several times. The first comments came in response to a question during a Reddit AmA between fans of the series and directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann. Druckmann's response, which came in February of 2014, noted that the company was "50/50" on a Last of Us 2 release. Baker's comments from 2015 echo what Druckmann said back in 2014. That the company would develop the game if they were able to hash out a solid storyline. As of right now, it's clear if they've been able to do that. In July of 2014, Naughty Dog told Videogamer that it was in the process of exploring ideas for the Last of Us 2. Of course, the company was quick to note that the end result isn't guaranteed. That was a year ago and we haven't heard much from the developer since.
