Leaked Video Reveals Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Release Date

Ubisoft has been uncharacteristically quiet about the version of Assassin’s Creed coming to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, opting to focus only on selling the upgrades that users can expect in Assassin’s Creed: Unity for the Xbox One and PS4. That’s not stopping enterprising industry insiders from sharing everything users need to know. Previous leaks revealed the game is named Assassin’s Creed: Rogue and a leaked trailer has revealed the Assassin’s Creed: Rogue release date.

The trailer, which was posted to XboxLive.Fr’s video channel, doesn’t contain a lot of information. It’s about three minutes long and shows off a new character who’ll, presumably be Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’s leading character. The character is seen walking towards the camera at first, presumably saying something and providing some information about his motivations in the game. Unfortunately, we don’t know what he’s saying because the video contains no audio.

By the end of the video, that same main character is shown starring picking up his weapon, about to execute someone who’s on the ground. When then see the game’s title logo, “Assassin’s Creed: Rogue” finally, confirming the title that’d leaked some time ago. The Siege of Fort De Sable Mission and The Ultimate Hunter Pack, two things that appear to be pre-order bonuses for the game’s eventual launch. Finally, the trailer closes with the Assassin’s Creed: Rogue release date of November 11th.

If the Assassin’s Creed: Rogue release date shown in this video is accurate than the game will debut roughly two weeks after Assassin’s Creed: Unity. That’s great because it gives Xbox 360 and PS3 users something to look forward to if they decide not to upgrade to Microsoft and Sony’s latest consoles just to get Unity.

Even without audio this video reveals a lot about Assassin’s Creed: Rogue. Both of the add-on DLC advertised in the leaked video have nautical themes, indicating that Assassin’s Creed: Rogue might follow closely in the footsteps of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. In short, it appears that users can expect many of the boat-focused mechanics they loved in the game to make an appearance here. Assassin’s Creed might have first focused on taking out targets in urban environments, but it’s included boat mechanics in every game since Assassin’s Creed 3.

Presumably, Ubisoft will have more to share about Assassin’s Creed: Rogue very soon. That should be the case if for no other reason than so much about the game has already been leaked. At that time we should learn more about what makes this game unique and not just a rehash of previous Assassin’s Creed games for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

We already know that Assassin’s Creed: Unity will mark a huge transition for the series. Ubisoft has posted video profiles and behind the scenes footage of the game for the last few months.  Ubisoft went to great lengths to change long time annoyances in the franchise. In Unity, players can finally free run off of buildings in the same way they could ascend them before. It’s a tiny change, but one that will finally bring an end to hay being scattered everywhere so that users can get down from tall buildings. Crowds in Unity are more dynamic too, and users can team up with their three friends to complete missions in the game. It’s worth noting that the character models we’ve seen in behind the scenes footage look absolutely stunning compared to what’s been in past games.
