I got a chance to take a close look at the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 today. It shares a lot of components with the original IdeaPad S10, but there are some nice upgrades. It is thinner, lighter and has a more stylish appearance. Both the keyboard and touchpad are bigger on the new model, making it much easier to type and control the cursor. An integrated 3G modem is a $50 option.
The IdeaPad S10-2 I looked at had a three-cell battery, but units sold in the US will come with a six-cell battery that will last for up to six hours on a single charge. The S10-2 will come with a 5400RPM hard drives in the U.S., while the 8GB and 16GB SSD models will be available in overseas.
I think a lot of consumers will be attracted to the S10-2’s designs, but I wish it had a matte display like the S10.
