LG G3 Release Details Continue to Arrive

The LG G3 release date is quickly approaching after all four major carriers in the United States promised a summer launch, but they aren’t the only ones planning to deliver this flagship smartphone as soon as possible.

While the new and impressive LG G3 is currently only available in Korea, hometown of Korea, a global launch right around the end of June and into the first weeks of July is currently what’s going around in the rumor mills. Original reports suggested a launch before the end of June, but that doesn’t seem likely at this point.

Consumers are still waiting for more details on the LG G3 release date, but today at least one more carrier in the UK has announced availability will e coming soon. This week Vodafone UK announced it will soon be offering the “mobile of your dreams” with a list that includes both the brand new LG G3, as well as the slightly outdated but still extremely popular original LG G2.

On the Vodafone UK device landing page we see the brand new LG G3, the old G2, Motorola’s new budget-minded Moto E, as well as the Nokia Lumia 930 all coming soon. Reading over the fine print Vodafone confirms that all four devices are set to launch in the very near future, and will be available to all prospective buyers as soon as they’ve run them through their “rigorous network tests” of course.

So what does this mean? In the US carrier network testing can take upwards of six weeks, but each carrier has their own unique guidelines and regulations each device needs to pass. Interestingly enough Vodafone UK never officially offered the LG G2, but it’s nice to see both will be coming later this summer. Most likely buyers can expect the G2 to be launched at a much lower (if not free) price point, with the newly announced LG G3 being the high-end offering from the carrier.

Sadly Vodafone didn’t reveal any pricing or actual release dates, but we can expect all that information to arrive soon enough. For those outside of Vodafone or the UK, the details are about the same. All major carriers in the United States, a few in Canada, and around the globe have all confirmed they’ll carry the device, but solid details regarding when and for how much are still hard to find.

Korea is the only region currently offering the new LG G3, but the company promises the G3 will be the biggest product launch in the history of LG Mobile. Back in April they vowed to deliver the device globally before the end of Q2, which is the end of June, but it looks like they may miss the mark by a few weeks.

While the details surrounding a global release date of the new LG G3 remain thin, we have received a few tips regarding when to expect it to arrive for at least one carrier. Last week the famed leakster evleaks shared screenshots claiming the Verizon LG G3 will be released on July 17th, after a pre-order kicks off on the 10th.

This has yet to be confirmed, but given the leaksters past accuracy it’s pretty safe to assume a release will be within a week or two of the rumored July 17th date. That being said, the LG Optimus G and even the LG G2 both arrived first on AT&T, then other carriers. So while we’ve yet to hear a date from T-Mobile, Sprint, or even AT&T, more details and subsequent releases are coming sooner rather than later.

Last year the LG G2 hit AT&T and Verizon first, and we’re expecting something similar for the G3 here in 2014. We’ll update the moment more details arrive.

The Nexus 5 was made by LG. It was a modified version of the G2 for Google. I see a similar deal happening with the next gen version.

While it may have some similarities to the Nexus 5 they are not even close in comparison by any stretch of the imagination.
