LG Optimus G Pro Value Pack Update Steals Samsung Galaxy S4 Features

Early buyers of the LG Optimus G Pro will be getting a software update that packs new eye tracking and dual camera features previously announced to be included in rival Samsung’s Galaxy S 4.

The update or what LG is calling the LG Optimus G Pro Value Pack will give Korean users access to new software upgrades free of charge on April 12th.

New features for the device include Smart Video, an eye tracking application that notices when a user’s attention has strayed elsewhere and automatically pauses and resumes video playback. The value pack will also enable dual-camera recording so that users can take pictures of nearly everything that’s around them. Pause and Resume recording will be included in the update as well, and give users the ability to pause the Optimus G Pro’s video recording, then resume video recording exactly where they left off without generating two videos. All of these capabilities are showcased in a new video the company made available this morning.

LG is also moving to add more compatibility with its line of Smart Televisions. After the update, users will have access to a refreshed QRemote with Magic Remote compatibility, and Text Keypad functionality to control LG Smart TVs without having to hunt for letters individually using the Smart TV’s on-screen keyboard.

The LG Optimus G Pro recently launched in Korea and is headed to Japan sometime this spring on NTT DoCoMO. The device features a 5” 1080p display, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Though no details of a possible North American launch have been shared by LG, rumors from Android Central do point to a variant of the device coming to American shores on May 10th on AT&T’s wireless network.

The LG Optimus G Pro Value Pack comes at a time when expectations of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 launch have reached a fever pitch. While neither Sprint nor Verizon have talked publicly about potential launch dates, the Galaxy S4 will be made available to T-Mobile users on May 1st, while AT&T will begin preorders on April 16th.

The device is expected to ship internationally in late April. Samsung announced that the Galaxy S4 would have automatic scrolling thanks to eye tracking and a dual camera mode at their launch event this past March. Both of which LG will have now beaten them to market with.

What? I’m pretty sure it’s the other way around. Regardless both companies have the same features at the same time, LG announced theirs first so Samsungs S4 is the real culprit for ‘stealing’ features.

With LG Optimus G Pro Value Pack Update, it seems LG Optimus has become the best available smartphone .

Rather than paying very high price for samsung galaxy s4 it is better to go for LG Optimus G 4G Android Phone (Sprint) at lowest price(depending on plan)

    Price From: $9.99
