We all know that one of the best reasons to puchase / upgrade to Vista is the much improved Tablet PC experience. During our meetings with Windows Tablet PC reco team this past week, the issue of getting the best results from recognition came up.
What they are observing is that new users think printed script will give them the best results. In fact, the opposite is true. To get the best handwriting recognition results, write in cursive. This is because the recognizer sees the letters as a continuous block rather than individual blocks. When seen as a continuous block, the recognizer does a better job of narrowing down the possibilities.
In addition to writing in cursive, turn on the personalized recognizer and Use Automatic Learning.
