The Madden 15 release is finally here, offering a new Madden experience for 2014 with more connected features, better looking graphics and animations and a much more balanced game overall.
Officially the Madden 15 release date is Tuesday August 26th, but Xbox One owners with EA Access played the game for the last five days, and if you go to a midnight Madden 15 release you can get the game as soon as the clock ticks over to Tuesday.
We already shared 10 things buyers need to know about the Madden 15 release date and now we’re back with last-minute tips that you need to know before you head out to a Madden 15 midnight release event or before you plan to buy the new Madden game for you kid on Tuesday.
After playing the early Madden 15 release we feel like the game is definitely worth buying thanks to key improvements that make this more than just a roster update.
Here are five last-minute Madden 15 release tips to help you find Madden, score a Madden 15 deal and what you should do if you are still on the fence.
Madden 15 Deals
You won’t find many Madden 15 deals left, and even Madden 25 trade in credit is almost not worth it despite 50% trade in bonuses.
But, if you are in need of an Xbox One, you can get the Madden 15 Xbox One bundle that includes a free digital copy of Madden 15. That’s a $60 value, but only if you need a new console. This is a $399 Xbox One version without Kinect.
There is no Madden 15 PS4 bundle so this is only worthwhile if you need a new console.
Reasons to Buy Madden 15 on PS4 or Xbox One
On that note there are several reasons that make the Madden 15 release date the perfect time to upgrade to a new console.
Many of the new Madden 15 features are not available on the Xbox 360 or PS3. You can see a rundown of five key Madden 15 features that aren’t available on the older consoles to see if they matter to you. After spending the weekend playing Madden 15 on Xbox One it would be hard to give these features up on an older console.
The timing is also ripe to buy a Xbox One or PS4, with many new games coming out this fall and a nice catalog of more affordable games available as well.
Midnight Release and Pre-Order
If you didn’t pre-order Madden 15 you can still buy the game on release day without any problems. EA knows how many copies of Madden people will buy, and there is almost no chance of a sell out at any retailer, even of the Madden 15 Ultimate Edition.
The only reason to pre-order is to get special bonus MUT packs, but at this point some stores may no longer offer pre-order options.
Walmart and Target are also good places to go, but keep in mind not every store will be ready right at midnight.
Wait for More Madden 15 Reviews
The early Madden 15 reviews praise the game, but this is from a small group of publications and we’ll soon see more Madden 15 reviews from regular users.
After playing the new Madden release this weekend it’s clear to us that Madden 15 is worth buying, but some users will prefer to wait for more reviews.
If you fall into that camp, check out the MetaCritic Madden 15 user reviews which start to appear after the Madden 15 release on August 26th.
Madden 15 Ultimate Team & Digital
Gamers that plan to play the Madden Ultimate Team mode in Madden 15 will definitely enjoy the added benefit of the special edition. With this purchase you get $40 worth of Madden Ultimate Team packs. This includes 30 Pro Packs and a Draft Pack. Regular pre-orders offer around $15 worth of Madden Ultimate Team bonuses.
There is a digital Madden 15 release on PS4 and Xbox One, but there is no special edition option for users that want a digital copy. On PS4 you can pre-load the game and start playing at 12:01 AM Eastern, but on Xbox One you cannot start playing Madden 15 until 3:01 AM Eastern, well past midnight for most users.
