Microsoft, Nokia, & EA Mobile Bringing New Games to Windows Phone

Published

on

Here’s some information on some games that Microsoft is teasing for Windows Phone. I have to assume games I will list below are coming in February since the post on the Windows Phone Team’s blog says, “Must Have Games for February”. The following games were announced by Microsoft on the Windows Phone Team Blog: Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction, Toy Soldiers: Boot Camp, BulletAsylum, and Chickens Can’t Fly. These all look like quality games and I believe they will all be Xbox Live titles.

In addition to those games, Nokia announced at CES with the Lumia 900 announcement that they are partnering with EA to bring even more games.

A partnership with EA to bring over 20 of the world’s most popular games to the Windows Phone marketplace, coming first to Nokia Lumia devices.

Why did it take Nokia to forge a deal with EA Mobile to bring more quality game love to Windows Phone? That’s the question. I know that Microsoft has been trying really hard to get developers to come over to Windows Phone, but Nokia getting EA Games to unload 20 games that easy seems weird. Am I reading into this too much?

Here’s a video from EA Mobile teasing some of the games that might come in this Nokia deal:

Here’s what I am seeing in there:

  • Mirror’s Edge
  • Real Racing 2 – Another racing game?
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour – An all time favorite!
  • Sims Medival – This one looks awesome!
  • Monopoly – You can never go wrong with Monopoly, right?
  • Spy Mouse
  • Yahtzee – Fun game on my iOS.
  • Life
  • Vampire Rush
  • Parking Mania
  • Picnic Wars

That’s not 20, but that’s enough to get me excited. I am looking forward to a few of the titles for sure.
