Microsoft Shows Off 13 Exclusive Xbox One Games
Today Microsoft showed off more of its new Xbox One video game console, including new games that will come out either at launch in November of this year or sometime in 2014.
The lineup of new Xbox One games range from independent games from developers like Capy and Mojang, to huge developers like 343 Industries and Remedy. Many of the games are exclusive titles published by Microsoft, though there are also several exclusive games from third-party publishers and developers that last generation would make mostly multi-platform games.
Some games are sequels to big games from the current generation, others are brand new games and at least one is a revival of an old franchise from many years ago.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Microsoft kicked off its E3 press conference with a long trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game follows Solid Snake as he travels to Afghanistan to fight against a slew of crazy new enemies. The game marks the first open-world in a Metal Gear Solid with some gameplay elements that look straight out of a modern-day on Assassin’s Creed or Splinter Cell.
New Halo
It wouldn’t be a new Xbox console without at least a hint of Master Chief. The demo video for the next console Halo game showed Master Chief walking through a desert in a tattered cloak as he stumbles upon some massive piece of what is likely Forerunner technology. The game will come out sometime in 2014.
TitanFall
TitanFall is the first game from Respawn Entertainment, a studio created by some of the developers from Infinity Ward around the time of the first Modern Warfare. The Xbox One-exclusive game lets gamers fight against one another as sci-fi soldiers inside giant mechs. Players can choose to fight outside of the giant mechs, but with beautiful suits of armor available, who wouldn’t want to use them?
Ryse: Son of Rome
Ryse: Son of Rome puts players in the role of General Marius Titus as he fights to keep control of his home city. The game, originally announced for the Xbox 360, will put players in the role of a warrior and a general. Gamers will control a group of Roman soldiers or fight as an individual soldier, depending on what the situation calls for.
Sunset Overdrive
The newest game from Insomniac Studios, the makers of Ratchet & Clank, is an open-world multiplayer game that lets players fight against a hoard of what looks like mutants with a number of their friends. The trailer for the game featured parkour running and jumping around the city with highly stylized visuals and unique weapons. It’s not every game that lets players shoot vinyl records into the necks of monsters than blow them up with some sort of supercharged rifle.
Killer Instinct
The revival of Rare’s Gamecube fighting game will come to the Xbox One sometime after the console’s release. The game features a cast of human characters that can transform into animals for more unique attacks.
Forza Motorsport 5
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYTx9DFWMSI
Microsoft already showed the impressive graphics of Forza 5 at its Xbox One reveal event, and the game looks just as impressive now. More interesting than the pretty graphics is the game’s “drivatar” feature that will use cloud computing to replace A.I opponents with the simulation of human opponents. Forza 5 will extract data from how gamers drive and put those created avatars into the cars their friends, family and strangers can race against in connected single-player races.
Minecraft
Minecraft Xbox One Edition looks just like Minecraft for the Xbox 360 and PC. The basic gameplay and graphics won’t change, but the 8GB of RAM in the Xbox One will allow for larger maps like the PC version. The game should fix all of the problems gamers have with the Xbox 360 version of the game.
Quantum Break
Microsoft didn’t show much of the new game from Remedy, only a short demo that showed off the graphics and sci-fi plot of part of the game. Quantum Break will blend TV and video games, which explains why the initial reveal featured a live action scene. Not much is known at the moment, however.
D4
D4 is a new episodic murder mystery game from developer Swery65, the creator of cult-hit Deadly Premonition. The trailer showed what looked like some Kinect motion controls, but lacked any other details.
Crimson Dragon
Crimson Dragon is a Kinect-enabled on-rails shooter from the creator of Panzer Dragoon. The game will use Kinect controls, making players wave their arms to lock onto targets. Unfortunately, there was no sound for the demo video on stage.
Dead Rising 3
The latest installment in Capcom’s popular zombie game, Dead Rising 3 is an open-world zombie game that pits protagonist Nick Ramos against thousands, if not millions, of zombies in a large city. The game will feature series mainstays such as crafting weapons, as well as new features like cars and artillery air strikes called in through SmartGlass.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt isn’t an Xbox One exclusive game, but it does have some Xbox One exclusive features. The game will use the Kinect for voice commands to draw weapons and cast spells, potentially making combat a bit easier for players. The new open-world RPG will also use SmartGlass for inventory management and crafting. Everything else will work just like the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
Battlefield 4
Battlefield 4, like Call of Duty: Ghosts, isn’t exclusive to the Xbox One, but its first DLC map pack will arrive on the Xbox One before the PC and other consoles. The game will run at 60 frames-per-second on the console, and looks very impressive. If the gameplay is as great as the graphics, Call of Duty will have a lot to compete with this holiday.
What Lies Below
What Lies Below is a new roguelike game from Capy, the developers of Sword & Sworcery EP, the acclaimed iOS, Android and PC game. Not much is known about the game, but it comes from a great indie developer, which is promising.
Project Spark
Project Spark is a unique title that is more about creating experiences and sharing them with friends. The game uses SmartGlass to make it easy to create worlds to play in. It also lets players program A.I. routines into characters or object they create in the game. It looks like a fun way to create games without programming knowledge, but it’s not for everyone.

Project Spark looks an awful lot like Little Big Planet.
The only game that impressed me was MGS, surprising since it’s been ages since I enjoyed a Metal Gear game. And MGS isn’t even exclusive, so no, nothing to make me want one yet.

For the record the vast majority of these aren’t esxclusives… especially not MGS5… wether or not it gets a DLC first, or comes out first… people will do what’s right and gets the better system… the PS4 is by all right’s that system at this point. No used game restrictions, no online check ins, more powerful system, and its $100 cheaper. Don’t get XBone’d, don’t get spied on and restricted… get the console designed for gamers!

yes, half of these are NOT Xone exclusives..
(this list is a fake list, MS fanboy retards made it…, or MS is so desperate..)

I couldn’t agree more with you guys. This list is so biased and they hope people will only look at the video and think those games are exclusive, who gives a crap if a DLC comes first on a console; i can wait a week. Microsoft made some huge mistakes, its biggest mistake in history; bigger than Vista. Its not too late to retract and apologize to the community.

Only three of these games are on PS4 how is that the majority. 3/16 is a minority. The rest are Microsoft Exclusive.

just to say, its 100$ more because of the kinect 2. Buy the cam for ps4 + the “wii mote” for ps4 and you will see that its more than 400$ but more like 550$. But for the rest, well its true.

Hope your not typing this from a phone or laptop as NSA already watching you… What’s to worry? Help the future of virtual gaming as the kinect sensor could maybe put you in a game with 4 cameras around you… Oh well… This is now current gen with updated GPU only… No fun without taking a leap… Can’t believe DRM got removed…

I did not see one shred if proof the ps4 was more powerful. I don’t care what the specs are Xbox one’s games looked better. Sony showed 85% multi platform games. Yea ps4 is cheaper and doesn’t have drm but Microsoft showed more exclusive games and better looking games. To me Ryse, Titanfall, dead rising 3 and Crimson dragon seemed much better than killzone, infamous, and final fantasy.

I definitely disagree with that but only because you said Crimson dragon… That game is kinect, I don’t ever see kinect games ranking well since the average gamer with no arm strength will get bored of these games quickly

Final Fantasy is going to be on the X1 aswell now…so there goes that, so will KH3

The only thing X1 showed that impressed graphically was Quantum Break, which was just a cinimatic. PS4 has shown Drive Club (yes it looks better than Forza) and Deep Down which was rendered mixed with gameplay. Btw, Titanfall is very similar to blacklight, which is also for PS4.

half of the games on this list aren’t true exclusives, and the proof is in the numbers which apparently you ignored. the ps4 is cheaper more powerful and doesn’t have things which turn away gamers like not being able to sell used games in the usual way or share games with friends if they want to try it out. ryse looks like it will be pretty much a fusion of heavy rain and dark souls, titanfall’s regular fps combat is pretty much stolen from the crysis franchise and while the mech combat looks kind of fun I don’t think I would buy a system for it, dead rising 3 is pretty much the typical “you against the zombie hordes” game which is a mediocre title by default due to the idea being used already, and crimson dragon is entirely based off of its predecessor.

PS4 is running a better Version of Radeon’s GPU. It’s also using GDDR5 rams on the south bridge instead of GDDR3 on the north

Lol at all the Playstation fans really thinking they are superior. If you like PS4 better than buy one, but don’t come here and attempt to shove your opinion down the throats of Xbox fans. Ok we get it Microsoft may add some features that even we the fans may find annoying, some may switch over, but let it be of their own volition. The article says that some of the games aren’t console exclusives, but xbox will be offering further services, or faster DLC. I mean you only deter me from the PS4, calling xbox fans fanboys, meanwhile being a fanboy in the comment section. Guess what? I and many others are still going to buy an xbox, and we will overall be more than happy playing our favorite games on the XBOX ONE.

exclusives ?? great line up of games? you mean that awful fighting game, the build your own adventure, a sluggish dead rising sequel, and the glitchy 300 ripoff? -oh yeah and the redundant halo and battlefield sequels .. ? The only games i was excited for was metal gear 5 ,the witcher 3 ،mirror edge 2 and titanfall and none of those games are exclusives all of them are coming to ps4 !?

PS4 has the same tech that restricts used games as Xbox. Xbox just had the balls to say it.

no actually it doesn’t. you really think that they would not admit such a big change? that would lead to a lot of class action lawsuits,
AviaryEllipsis

It wasn’t about “having the balls”, third party game producers demanded for the feature long ago and now console developers have to do it to keep their titles. It has been mentioned previously but it was not blown up to be such a big deal then. Now that there are new consoles being released and the subject has been brought up again everyone is raving about it like there was no prior warning, but there was…. Weather or not they mentioned it in the first public briefing, the public was already informed that it was going to happen…. If the only time you chose to acknowledge a briefing about gaming is when new consoles are being released, you can’t claim that you were left in the dark.

The description under the Killer Instinct video is about “Bloody Roar: Primal Fury”…wtf.
Also, most of the games on the list actually are exclusives.
1. Sunset Overdrive
2. Killer Instinct
3. Project Spark
4. Ryse
5. Forza 5
6. Dead Rising 3
7. Titanfall
8. Minecraft (Technically not an exclusive but it is an upgraded version of the currently available Mincraft)
9. Crimson Dragon
10. D4
11. What Lies Below
12. Halo
13. Quantum Break
That’s 13 out of 16 of the games listed that are exclusives.
Well more than half. Learn fractions.

1. Sunset Overdrive will probably be a timed exclusive as Insomniac’s existing market are predominantly on Playstation. Also don’t forget that FUSE had all the fun drained out of it so it became generic crap.
2. Killer Instinct is likely to fail seeing as Rare are now a zombie studio whose main purpose in life is to churn out Kinect games. Most of the old staff are gone, and Grant Kirkhope is now staunchly Anti-Rare.
3. Project Spark is just jumping on the LBP bandwagon. I’d bet that LBP3 will be announced in the spring, as a full 3d game. LBP3D they could call it! Or not.
4. Ryse will be yet another motion gaming hack and slash bore fest. Stick to using it for health, dance and party games, or as a controller supplement. Killzone 3 perfected the Move for hardcore motion gaming but noone wanted to use it because it gave you a disadvantage compared to using controller.
5. Forza 5 :) That’s more like it
6. Dead Rising 3 will be timed exclusive and end up on PC like Dead Rising 2. PC fans would throw a hissy fit otherwise. Also am I the only one who hates any game with a time limit? Hence loving Little King’s Story on Wii but hating Pikmin on Gamecube despite them being basically the same game other than the time limits in Pikmin.
7. Titanfall is NOT an Xbox One exclusive. It is also for PC and Xbox 360. It is a MICROSOFT EXCLUSIVE. They need to be clearer about this because it is essentially deceptive advertising.
8. Minecraft XB1 might be better than 360 edition but surely the PC version with its mods and the original Mojang creating it cannot possibly be ussurped by a console version made by a different company.
9. Crimson Dragon = LAIR + Kinect + On Rails. Surely a recipe for an awful game.
10. D4 sounds intriguing for gamers but not for them, Borderlands is the only cell shaded 3d game that has EVER sold well.
Chiff
06/20/2013 at 12:39 pm
11. What Lies Below is a good question, because we have no idea what this game is about.
12. Halo by 343 isn’t the same as Halo by Bungie is it? Destiny by Bungie seems far more appealing and that’s multiplatform.
13. Quantum Break will end up on PC just like Alan Wake, and will probably sell better there just like Alan Wake. :P
So out of these 13 exclusives Forza is the only one that stands out to me as a prominent AAA perma-exclusive that matters.
Compare that with PS4’s Killzone Shadowfall, Drive Club (could be as good as Forza for all we know), Knack, Final Fantasy XV, FF14 A Realm Reborn and the Oddworld Remake. Suddenly numbers mean jack shit compared to quality.
Also Trials Fusion, Planetside 2 and DC Universe Online are making the console jump to PS4, good move say I.
Trials seems more consoley than PC-ey to me due to the need for fluid movement and mainstream nature of it, Planetside 2 as a free to play MMOFPS could do wonders for the value of buying a PS4 (no PS+ required to play MMOs) compared to a gaming PC (Planetside’s current abode).

Most of the best next gen games are multiplatform anyway so you could completely ignore exclusives and see that PS4 is the cheaper way to play Destiny, Elder Scrolls Online, Watch_Dogs, Planetside 2, The Division, MGS5 etc etc etc.
And then if you’re up to investing a bit more later on, play them on a Vita wherever you have net access!
