Microsoft Silverlight To Be Used for Online Broadcast of Obama Inaugural

Published

on

Yesterday I posted about the UStream iPhone app that would let users view the Obama Presidential Inauguration on their iPhone and other devices. Turns out Microsoft has gotten into the act as well with Silverlight. Microsoft has announced that Silverlight was selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to enable online streaming of inauguration events. The official swearing in ceremony and a Baltimore event on the Whistle Stop tour will be streamed at https://www.pic2009.org.

Side Note: As of this morning I had received word from the Ustream folks that they were backlogged and were processing applications for the beta as fast as they could.

This post partially dictated using speech recognition in the Windows 7 Beta. Links were assigned by the usual keyboard method but text entry was by speech,.
