Users looking for an app to quickly manage their entire financial outlook have a new cause for celebration. Starting today, users can download Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 versions of Mint, the popular personal account app and service.

Mint announced two new free applications for Microsoft users this morning. Together, Mint for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 finally bring the website’s money saving and financial overview functions to devices other than the iPhone, iPad and devices running Android.

Mint bills both applications as providing “users with a convenient way to view all of their financial accounts in one place.” While that functionality may seem trivial, that combined with the service’s ability to create and easily follow customized budgets are very popular with users of iOS and Android.

For their part, both applications seem to include all the features long time Mint users might expect. Mint for Windows Phone includes credit card tracking, spending tracking and expense categorization, all from the application itself. Of course, this being Windows Phone, users can pin specific accounts to their Start Screen. This way they can get instant analysis moments after turning on their Windows Phone every morning. That app also supports transaction notifications so users instantly know about changes in their financial situation. Mint for Windows Phone is free, however it hasn’t shown up in the Windows Phone Store just yet. Users should look for it to appear sometime today.

Mint on Windows seems to deliver all the functions of the Windows Phone application, albeit with a slightly more forward thinking design. Windows 8.1 users can pin their accounts to the Start Screen, however the user interface for tracking spending breaks down charges into very attractive graphs that contrast nicely. The application also supports snapped states. With snapped states, users can actively multitask while checking their financial history. Mint for Windows is already available in the Windows Store.

As the applications are free, users looking to keep their spending on a tight leash should definitely check them out. Users will need to add their bank account and credit credentials into the service. Their financial institution will also need to support secure data sharing on their end as well.
