The Moshi iGlaze Ion is an iPhone 6s battery case that looks great and only adds thickness when you need more power.
The slick two-part design means you get a slim iPhone 6s case that looks great all day and then when you need more power you simply slide that case into the battery part of the case.
A two-piece iPhone 6s battery case is ultimately thicker than most single piece cases, but it offers a much slimmer option for most of the time you are using the iPhone. This also works with the iPhone 6.
Like the rest of the Moshi cases and accessories, the slim case and the battery case look great and feel top-notch. The case is available in black and a copper-like brown for $99 from Moshi.
You can use this with the included Moshi iGlaze Ion slim case or you can swap in an iGlaze Napa and other cases that include the open logo back.
After using this case for a month it easily replace a Mophie iPhone 6s battery case. If you only need to charge your iPhone on some occasions, or at a specific time of the day, this is a very nice option.
You will need to remember to put this in your bag or purse if you want to carry the battery without adding a lot of bulk to the iPhone.
Users who want to keep a battery on the iPhone all the time, and don’t plan to use the slimmer case can find thinner battery cases like the Mophie Juice Pack Reserve, but the battery in that case is much smaller and you cannot use the case without the battery.
When you need power, slide the battery part of the Moshi iGlaze Ion on to the back of your iPhone and use the small button on the bottom to start charging. The case includes a 2,750mAh battery that supports fast charging.
You charge this case, and when attached your iPhone, with Micro USB. Moshi includes a Micro USB cable with the case and it supports Passthrough. That means you can use this same cable to sync with your computer or connect to your car infotainment system like you would use a lightning cable.
There is a headphone adapter cable to use when the battery case is attached. If you have headphones with a larger plug or a L shaped connector you will need this. When using the standard iPhone headphones it is easier to thread the connection through the battery case opening and plug it in before you snap the phone into the battery case.
I like the brushed finish of the battery case and the included phone case as well as the option to use this with the leather iPhone 6s case from Moshi.
Users who want the convenience of an iPhone 6s battery case without always carrying around a thicker iPhone case will enjoy the Moshi iGlaze Ion.
