Motion Computing Receives FCC Approval for HSDPA in the LE1700
TGDaily.com is reporting that Motion Computing has received FCC approval to integrate HSDPA wireless broadband in the LE1700 Tablet PC. This is in addition to offering EVDO through Sprint.
Also, according to the FCC documents obtained by TGDaily, Motion has replaced the Atheros WiFi with Intel’s 3945 ABG version.
A Product Description search for LE1700 at the FCC site confirms the 3945 ABG information.
I’ve been in contact with Motion, and asked them about the HSDPA addition:
Motion’s intention is to offer multiple WWAN service provider options for its tablet PCs so, of course, we’ll investigate multiple wireless technology options. Filing with the FCC is part of that investigation.
