Motion Computing announced a new processor option for the J3500 Tablet PC today alongside a collection of new accessories.
The Motion J3500 tablet can now be configured with an Intel Core i3 processor, introducing a lower entry-level price for this rugged 12.1″ slate tablet. Motion also added the option to use a 30GB SSD as your primary storage solution, which contributed to the price drop on the low end model. The new entry-level J3500 starts at $1,799 and is available today.
“We understand our customers’ businesses and recognize that the one-size-fits-all approach is not well-suited to their needs,” said Mike Stinson, vice president of marketing, Motion Computing in a press release regarding the more affordable options. “Motion continuously strives to provide affordable pricing options while offering performance, durability and mobile workflow support across our entire suite of products.”
The J3500 also gains a new dock that can be mounted to vehicles, cabinets, poles, walls — pretty much anywhere. The J-Series Mobile Dock includes a combination lock for security in addition to full port replication. The dock adds VGA, USB 2.0 and Ethernet, charging capability and vibration protection. You can purchase the J-Series Mobile Mount for $359.
In all, these upgrades offer another attractive Windows Slate Tablet PC aimed at users who demand reliability, but are cost conscious.
