Since it was first announced and released back in September, Motorola’s impressive new Moto G smartphone for 2014 has been rather popular. Offering a premium smartphone experience for those on a budget, and today a huge Moto G deal surfaced that makes this device even cheaper.
The original Moto G from 2013 was Motorola’s most successful smartphone ever released, which is saying something. It was a well-rounded smartphone all for only $179 outright, making it an instant buy for budget shoppers. In 2014 though, the 2nd Gen Moto G they released was even better.
In September Motorola announced a brand new Moto G for 2014, offering the same stunningly low $179 price tag with a smartphone with impressive specs. This 5-inch 720p HD smartphone is already a good deal, but a better Moto G deal is available today from Amazon.
Today Amazon has the 2nd Gen Moto G 2014 for $30 off, making this smartphone only $149 outright. That’s all you’ll pay, as this phone is that cheap without a contract, which is pretty impressive considering most are $199 on contract and over $500 outright. So what makes it so special given the low price? Read on.
The new Moto G offers a 5-inch 720p HD display, a powerful quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and a micro-SD slot for expansion, an 8 megapixel rear camera, and dual front facing speakers for excellent sound output. All of this is on a rather small 5-inch device running Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google’s latest release of Android that most smartphones have yet to be updated to. It’s an excellent all around package, and today it’s even cheaper than usual.
Amazon.com is offering the 8GB Moto G 2014 smartphone for just $149 in both black and white color options, as well as the global version, and the US GSM option. Meaning it will work for AT&T, T-Mobile, and other GSM networks, or the global version will work for those traveling abroad and most carriers outside the US.
The only downside to the Moto G 2014 is that it isn’t a 4G LTE smartphone. However, it still supports what many call “faux 4G” with AT&T and T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G speeds, so it should still be an excellent choice for those on a budget, especially now that it’s $30 off.
This is a great smartphone for those on a budget, someone who doesn’t want to sign a contract or lease a smartphone with monthly payments, and a perfect holiday gift for kids or parents looking to get their first smartphone.
