Moto X 2014 Cyber Monday 2014 Deal Arrives

Today, Motorola unveiled a Cyber Monday 2014 deal for its Moto X 2014 and related accessories that’ll save buyers $140 instantly whether they’re purchasing a Moto X 2014 on a two-year contract or directly from Motorola itself.

Motorola announced the upcoming Cyber Monday 2014 deals on its blog early this morning. For one day only, Monday, December 1st Motorola Moto Maker shoppers will be able to purchase the Moto X 2014 with 16GB of storage for just a penny if they’re willing to sign a two-year contract with Verizon. Motorola also makes a Moto X 2014 with 32GB of storage. That model will cost Verizon users $50.01 with a two year contract.

Normally, purchasing the Moto X 2014 on Verizon would cost $149.99, though for the holidays the carrier has marked Motorola’s flagship Android smartphone down to just $99 with a two-year contract on its own website. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news though, Motorola isn’t working with AT&T to make it’s Moto X 2014 devices any cheaper for those willing to sign a two-year contract.

The Motorola Cyber Monday 2014 gets more interesting for Cyber Monday 2014 shoppers who aren’t comfortable signing a two year contract. The Moto X 2014 comes in versions meant for individual carriers and a Pure Edition. The Moto X 2014 Pure Edition doesn’t include any carrier specific apps and they’re unlocked so that users can sign up for service on any carrier that supports SIM cards and the correct data technology. In September, the Moto X 2014 Pure Edition cost $499, but with this Cyber Monday 2014 deal the Moto X 2014 Pure Edition will cost $359.99.

Motorola offers separate financing for Moto X 2014 Pure Edition buyers who want a phone they can use on multiple carriers and aren’t too keen on being tied to a mobile operator. It’s also worth noting that the Moto X 2014 Pure Edition gets updates like Android Lollipop before carrier-branded versions.

In the past Motorola has held big deals that absolutely frustrated users. With this Cyber Monday 2014 deal it’s trying to do things better than just offering a code to anyone and everyone. To be clear, absolutely anyone will be able to sign up for a Cyber Monday 2014 deal code at Motorola’s website on Monday. Instead of redeeming the code the moment you get it, Motorola is making everyone wait until Monday at 11AM Central Standard Time to redeem it their code too. Those who get a code will have until December 15th to redeem it through the Moto Maker website.

Users who purchase any accessories at the same time as they’re purchasing their Moto X 2014 will get 30% off on related accessories. Motorola does note that Chromecast is one of the accessories excluded in this deal. The Moto 360, Motorola’s smartwatch accessory, does seem to be covered by the deal. Motorola also says that users who upgrade their Moto X 2014 with wood and leather backs should expect a $25 upcharge as they make their way through the Moto Maker website. Those upgrades would normally cost users the same amount.

The Moto X 2014 has a spacious 5.2-inch display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and 2GB of RAM. Sensors in the front of the device allow users to wave away phone calls and check for notifications. Its 13 megapixel rear-facing camera has a ring flash that’s designed to help diffuse photos taken with it. The Moto X 2014 also includes an always-on command for using Google Now. Users can change the phrase used in this always-on command to almost anything they choose. That’s something that wasn’t possible with the original Moto X.
