MultiTouch Instrument Prototype

Roger Linn, the inventor of the drum machine, is showing off an interesting multi touch instrument prototype. The multitouch UI is a blend of a guitar and piano. Unlike some synthesizers, it sounds much more like a natural instrument since its tones can be controlled in three dimensions per finger. Linn’s using a multi-touch controller from TouchCo, whcih was acquired earlier this year by Amazon, which will presumably use the multi-touch technology in its Kindle e-readers. Amazon is no longer selling TouchCo’s products and Linn is in search of alternative hardware and funding.
