It’s no secret that Netflix has been on a roll lately with many of its popular original series such as House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, but a brand new darker series is coming soon, and today they’ve finally announced the release date for Marvel’s Daredevil.

Last year we received a small teaser of the upcoming joint project between Netflix and Marvel to bring another iconic super hero to TVs everywhere when they finally started talking about Daredevil, and today after months of waiting all the details and a new teaser video have been revealed.

Fans of the popular Daredevil comic books are still somewhat upset over the Ben Affleck film from 2003, and are hopeful that the new 13 episode 1-hour long series on Netflix will return the hero to his rightful place. Read on for all the details and the official Daredevil Neflix release date.

The brand new Daredevil Original Series on Netflix will finally be released in its entirety (all 13 episodes) on April 10th. This means that fans and binge-watchers will be able to catch as many episodes as they’d like on April 10th, or even sit down and enjoy the entire series in one go.

This Netflix-exclusive show will feature 13 one-hour long episodes that Marvel writers are calling essentially one extremely long movie. They chose 13 episodes to make the new series not too short, and not too long, enabling them to tell one giant story throughout the series. Not to say each episode won’t have enough to carry itself, but the 13 episodes are expected to wrap up in excellent fashion.

Here’s a quick teaser that was recently released sharing nothing more than a skyline of New York City, where the show was filmed, and revealing the release date for eager fans.

For those unaware, the show will star Charlie Cox from HBO’s hit series Boardwalk Empire, who will play Matt Murdock, and will follow the comic book created by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr’s  “The Man Without Fear”.

“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

Reading over the announcement on Marvel.com you’ll notice they suggest more teasers are coming soon. Claiming to stay tuned to the official website for more details and teasers from now until the release come April 10th.

Again, Season 1 of “Marvel’s Daredevil” will premiere with 13 one-hour episodes on April 10, 2015 at 12:01 a.m. PT in all territories where Netflix is available. So get your popcorn ready for some binge-watching, if you’re into that sort of thing.
