New Apple-Owned Beats Headphones Unveiled

Published

on

Beats’ most popular pair of headphones is getting the wireless treatment. The company announced today that it will begin selling the Solo2 Wireless, which are essentially identical to the wired Solo2 headphones, but now come with a Bluetooth component.

The new wireless headphones offer the same sound quality and overall build as the older wired version, but they now come with the ability to play music without any annoying cables getting in your way. The cans have a wireless range of up to 30 feet and the battery is said to last 12 hours before it’ll need a recharge.

With the launch of the Solo2 Wireless headphones, Beats also announced a new version for the wired Solo2 headphones, called the “Royal Edition.” This includes a “satin, iridescent finish” in Stone Grey, Hunter Green, Imperial Violet, Blush Rose, or Sapphire Blue. This new version will be available later this month for the same $199 as the regular Solo2 headphones.

The new Solo2 Wireless headphones will be available in red, black, white, and blue, and will sell for $299 at Apple Stores and other various retail locations later this month as well. Plus, the red version is a Verizon Wireless exclusive that will last until the end of the year, so be sure to get them ASAP if you love exclusive products.

What’s perhaps a bit of a mystery is that the Apple logo appears nowhere on these new headphones, possibly pointing to the fact that Apple wants to keep the Beats business separate for now, with the only indication of an Apple-owned company being some fine print on the packaging.

This isn’t too surprising, considering that Apple probably doesn’t want to mess with the winning formula that Beats Electronics has used for several years to make it such a successful business, and we don’t blame Tim Cook and company for not wanting to mess with that.

If you’re in the market for some new Beats headphones, these just might be the ones to get, but if you’re waiting for some Black Friday deals, you won’t be disappointed.

Beats headphones are pretty expensive, and if you don’t already have a few hundred dollars lying around burning a hole in your pocket, then you probably don’t want to spend full price on a pair of the Dr. Dre-endorsed ear cans, which isn’t too surprising, especially considering that you can get better-quality headphones for the same price or less.

However, if you’re adamant about getting a pair of Beats headphones, some stores will have some pretty good deals on Beats headphones.

It’s bit too early to know what all the major retail stores will have on sale on Black Friday, but a couple of big retail chains have already released their Black Friday ads that include deals on Beats headphones, including Target and Best Buy.

Target has a couple of Beats headphone models that will be sold at a discount on Black Friday. The Solo HD Drenched headphones will be on sale for $97 on Black Friday, while the more expensive Beats by Dre studio headphones will be sold for $249, which is $50 off the normal price.

As for Best Buy, they’ll have a better deal on the Solo HD Drenched headphones, selling them for just $79, which is almost $10 less than Target will sell them for on Black Friday. Unfortunately, that seems to be the only Beats deal that Best Buy will offer.
