New iTunes update to go with new iPad
With four days until the new “gadget day that will live in infamy”, aka “iPad Day”, Apple is doing its last minute updates and fixes to its operating system as well as other products to make using an iPad the best experience ever.
The latest in the updates is a new version of iTunes, version 9.1.
The update is available direct from Apple or via Software Update. It weighs in at 102.1MB. iTunes 9.1, according to Apple, has “several new features and improvements,” including the ability to:
- Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more on the go
- Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library
- Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes
The old Audiobooks category is now being replaced with just Books– could be a hint on how the new iBookstore is going to work with the iPad and iTunes.
For all those who pre-ordered their iPad or are going to get one this weekend, and own a Mac desktop or notebook, get your updates done now.
Thanks to Apple Insider for the update information.
