Users who purchase an Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass won’t need to worry about whether it’ll be worth it. A new trailer released by Ubisoft today has revealed that users who purchase the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass can expect tons of additional content over time for that $30.
Ubisoft published the trailer in question on its YouTube Channel earlier today, also giving users an in-depth preview of what they can expect with the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass.
Like Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag before it, Assassin’s Creed Unity will let users play a new campaign that’s completely different from the story. This separate campaign, which will be called Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings, will take place in Saint Denis. Saint Denis is a real life place where French royalty were buried. It was ransacked during the French Revolution. Ubisoft is claiming that Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings will be the darkest story they’ve told in franchise history. Saint Denis will have underground tunnels to explore and a new enemy to fight against. A new guillotine gun will let users shoot explosives at enemies when far away and slash them to death when they’re in close combat.
In addition to this new campaign, three new missions will also be included for Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Passbuyers. The American Prisoner, Killed By Science & The Chemical Revolution will probably add a few hours of gameplay to Assassin’s Creed Unity. We do know that we can expect some never-before-scene historical figures to appear in at least one of these three missions.
Added character customization will come in the form of new costumes. With the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass, players will get 30 new items to customize Arno, the game’s main character with. These items will be on top of the items users earn in the game, apparently. New weapons will come in the Season Pass too.
Also included in the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass will be Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China. Instead of focusing on Arno, this game will take players to China to experience life as a new Assassin who has yet to début in any of the previous games. Instead of being a traditional open-world game, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China will be a side-scroller. Think less going where you want and more Mario. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles China will drop the typical art style of past games. Instead, it’ll look almost like a painting.
At least from a basic perspective, the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass seems like an obvious buy for fans of the game. That it’ll add new weapons and power ups is definitely interesting too. Of course, the Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass needed to be impressive. It’ll cost $30, and users will need to purchase Assassin’s Creed Unity to even make use out of the content. That’s another $60 for users who plan on just buying the basic version of the game and not the special edition.
Ubisoft first unveiled Assassin’s Creed Unity shortly before this year’s E3 trade show. Like past games, players will take on the identity of a member of the Assassin order. This game trade the open waters of the Caribbean for Paris, France shortly before the French Revolution. A ton of small changes should add up to a new experience. Assassin’s Creed Unity players won’t have to look for stacks of hay every time they need to descend a building. Instead, they’ll be able to climb down as easily as they climb up. Enhanced graphics and better code will make every crowd in Paris dynamic and look more realistic. Users will also be able to freely move inside and outside of buildings without a loading screen – a huge first for the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Unity launches on November 11th. When it does, it’ll only be available on the Xbox One and PS4. Presumably, this season pass content will be released through the first six months after Unity is available.
